Bluestar. Firestar. The Three. They're all gone, long gone.
The Twolegs that troubled Clan cats in greenleaf are long dead, dust in the wind.
The Clans they once believed in--those are gone too. Their system of living degraded, and the warrior code was forgotten.
All that remains are cruel and heartless murderers. They are mostly placed into two groups: a group without a name, who are generally referred to as the Nameless and the Red Death.
A light still shines within the shadows--these are cats who still carry vague knowledge of StarClan. They don't live with the Red Death or the Nameless, but choose to stay in hiding to escape the certain death they would receive at the paws of the rogue cats.
When a cat from each group receives a vision from cats long dead, they do not believe, but they are led to a pool surrounded by rocks and tasting of the stars. Pawsteps guide them, faded and ancient. StarClan will help them no more: they have uncovered a small piece of the puzzle and are leaving the living to sort out the rest.
Now it's up to the three cats with a hope for the future and the faded pawsteps they follow to reform their lives before the death toll rises too high.
