The night crept over the dorms slowly, hidden by the ceiling of Huey's dorm. It was only his first day here, and the whole place seemed nice. Rolling on his bed, Huey reached for his ipod and started listening to Denial Twist by the White Stripes. Huey looked out from his dorm window. There was a forest there. Somehow, he had never really noticed it before. Huey squinted his eyes in the dim lighting of nighttime, and the area around it seemed darker than other parts of the ground. He decided to go and check it out. He exited his dorm and locked the door, taking his ipod with him. He walked down the first flight of stairs, then the second, the third, and fourth, exited the dormitory building, and went around to the forest. He stood immediately in front of it, staring up at how frighteningly large the trees looked, as if they were leaning over him, about to attack. He looked back down, into the forest itself. It seemed so dark! He turned in a quick 360 motion. None of the other ground looked as shaded as the forest did. Curious, Huey decided to take a few steps inside, wondering if something would happen. Completely focused on the forest's contrast with the campus' other areas, and his music blasting in his ears, Huey was unable to pay attention to anything else.

ALEXIA ANISWORTH [/center] I was standing in the forest, normally, I came out here to think. About life, About school, and about that one guy on my mind right now. A boy in year 10, I saw him and was dazzled by him. He had a beautiful face. But it was his eyes that really got to me. Every time I looked at his face, I was stunned. I was sitting in the forest, just a couple feet in, It was clear that you could see me. Unless you were a super jock listening to music all the time. I was moving on to the subject that my mother was gone, not coming back.
Ever.
I started thinking about the subject some more and a single tear fell. Thinking about the subject some more, More tears started falling, and I was shaking. I tried to calm down but I just couldn't. That's when I looked up, and saw him. I was, wiping the tears away with foce and standing up, and tried to talk. "He- Hello." |

Huey squinted harder than he already was in the dark forest, which was getting harder to see in every second. He started seeing a shape in the dim light as the lyrics to his song played in his head. . . . so what, somebody left you in a rut, and wants to be the one who's in control, but the feeling that you're under can really make you wonder, how the hell she could be so cold. . . Huey thought maybe it was just a tree stump, and kept on walking. But as he got closer to it, it started to look more and more like a human, and when he heard it talk to him, he nearly jumped halfway back to his dorm. With his eyes two white eggs and his mouth a gaping hole, he was frozen in place. All he felt he could do was open his dry lips and spit out the only word he could think to say right now. ". . . hi. . ?" |

I was standing there in the cold empty night. Looking at him took my breath away, But I needed to talk, That was at least important right? It was, So why don't you speak up? I will! I sighed, having a argument with myself was not on my agenda right now.
Hi, Um, I was just leaving
Hah! Just leaving? Ya right, I'd been out here all night. Clean up your act! Tears were still dripping from your face. With another big wipe, The tears were gone, no trace right?
No. Not right.
My shirt was soaked. I had to go in and change, But it was rude to leave him standing here. So I waited and thought about if I should say something. |

Huey put up his hands as if to say 'stop'. "No no no, you don't need to leave just become I came along." Huey tried to get a look at her, but the strange forest was too dark. If only I had eaten more carrots. he joked in his mind. To try and get a better look, he sat down next to her. Wow. . . she's very pretty. . . Huey tried hard not to stare, and started looking at the trees. I wish I could build a treehouse here, somewhere. . . I remember the treehouse I had back at my home in France. It wasn't the most luxurious or the most spacious, but I had more fun up there than I had anywhere on the ground. . .

The wind passed over them. She was getting a little cold so she gabbed her jacket beside her and wrapped it around her. She noted as he sat down beside her. And saw how he was looking at her. SHe was amazed really. IT nvr had the impresion from any other guy before. She smied and laughed. He thinks I'm cute! Well who wouldn't? I mean really. Someone who would think that I'm not cute is insane.. SHe looked down at the ground when she saw a shadow and jumped a bit. THen relaxed when she saw it was only a tree.
Alexia's mind drifted of to her happy place. Where she was still with her mother and she was healthy. She loved those days. They went camping and.... Oh. Campnig. THat brought back memories of her childhood. Hugging her legs to her chest and whimpered. Forgeting abotu the man who sitting beside her. She started sobbing again from the memory, getting chased around by a wolf was not th most fun thing to do. |

Huey heard a strange noise in the darkness nearby him. He looked at Alexia and was surprised to find it was her. He had no idea what to say, but he had nothing to lose. Worth a shot to say something. "Hey, want some gum, I got stride, 5, and Hubba Bubba. Which one do you want?" Huey reached into his pocket to get the gum ready to give to her. He himself planned to have a piece of 5 gum. "You know, gum actually reduces crying when you cut onions!"
